**Spoiler alert! The kids grandparents are not allowed to read this post because it will spoil their Christmas present surprise**
Annie made some Christmas gifts for her grandparents but she needed some small boxes to put them in. Here is a quick tutorial on how to make a gift box using old Christmas cards.
I apologize in advance for the poor quality of the photos and the pencil-marked up table!
First, cut your card in two. I thought this card was very fitting for the project. 😛 Next, cut the back of the card (which will be the bottom of your box) a few mm smaller than the top by trimming the bottom and side a bit.
Next, using a ruler, draw lines down each side of both top and bottom piece. I made my lines 1″ from each side. Can you see the marked lines? Cut those lines up to where they intersect. You’ll want to do them on the short side of the card for one piece and the long side for the other. Fold along all of the lines.
Put glue on the small corner squares on the shiny side (right side) of each card. I marked the corners on the bottom to show you.
Fold up the sides so that the corner tab is on the inside of the box. (You could also tape instead of glue if you’d like.)
Do this with all corners.
Congratulations! You have a box. 🙂
Put some tissue paper inside, and your gift, and voila. Done!
