Oops, I TOTALLY forgot to write an update about our CHEO day. Tobi did really well, he asked for his milk a couple of times in the morning, but let it go pretty quickly…he asked more in the car on the way to the city, and we told him that he has to see the Dr. first. Then he started saying he wants to see the Dr…smart kid.
At CHEO he asked a bunch for milk in the waiting room but kept playing with the big train they have there. Another girl in the waiting room was having a snack, but he didn’t seem to notice. They called us in right at 12:30, and Tobi stayed perfectly still and quiet, holding his arms up out of the way and flipping over when he had too. The whole thing took maybe 10-15 minutes. He got a pack of gummy treats as soon as he was done, then we went for lunch.
Considering the day was full of sitting, waiting, going from shopping cart to car seat, the kids did really well. Tobi was pretty hyper in Value Village but not behaving badly. Our appointment was late in the evening, and we didn’t end up leaving til 7:30, which was perfect timing to get kids into the PJs before we left the hospital, and have them pass out in the car. Overall, the day was a success!
Best yet, the urologist said that as long as Tobi doesn’t get sick with an infection, we don’t have to go back! Almost 3 years of ultrasounds at CHEO and we’re DONE! The Dr. will send a notice to our family Dr. saying he should have an ultrasound done at our local hospital in a year, but we don’t have to make the whole CHEO full-day trip again. So praise God!
