Tobi is 3 years old and Annabel is 2 years old.
This week we learned about Daniel and the lion’s den! We focused on the verse “For with God nothing will be impossible”, Luke 1:37.
We made a fun lion craft by tracing our hands.
Annie learned to identify the letter A! I wouldn’t have even really thought to start teaching her letters yet but she surprised me by identifying R and M on her Leap Frog fridge set, so I thought why not?
Annabel and I also worked on learning and matching shapes and colours. We played a lot with her peg board. We found one set at a thrift store and another set at a yard sale so we’ve been having lots of fun with these lately.
Tobi and I worked on unit 1 of You Can Read, found at 1+1+1=1. We’re going to continue with this unit this week. Tobi loves Word World, so we worked hard at building words!
I also found a Leap Frog Math Bus at a yard sale, so we’ve been having fun with that, too. It’s great; there are 3 levels of activities. Annie has been doing the shape matching, while Tobi likes the counting one. There is also a simple addition and subtraction activity. I haven’t been able to find this toy online so I’m not sure if it’s still being made.
We made more peanut butter bird feeders..this time I let the kids smear on their own peanut butter. It wasn’t as messy as I expected!
I’ve started a new
chore special jobs system with the kids, which I’ll post about later. This week Annie is my kitchen helper, so she helped me wash bell peppers for one of our meals. She’s also been helping wash dishes!
