I’ve been busy lately and struggling with writer’s block. Not a very productive mix for try to blog!
I don’t have exact dates yet, but I’m already about 10 weeks along! A few weeks farther than my last pregnany lasted. I know that reaching the 2nd trimester doesn’t mean the pregnancy will be completely risk-free, but I am definitely encouraged that it’s been going smoothly so far.
I’ve had to read up on baby development because I don’t really remember what happens at what gestation. At 10 weeks, the baby is about 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) and the heartbeat can usually be detected by doppler! I haven’t had a midwife appointment yet, but I’m hoping we’ll be able to hear the heartbeat when I go next week.
I have had a bit of nausea and a lot of exhaustion. It’s made for a few lazy days but it could be a lot worse! I’m glad that I’m able to take it easy when needed.
I have struggled a bit with fear this pregnancy after my miscarriage last fall. I try to stay positive and I know there is really no reason to think that this pregnancy will go badly, but sometimes I can’t help but worry that something will go wrong. The farther I get, the easier it is getting to allow myself to truly get excited.
The older children are excited and have already given some name suggestions. Among these were “Mario” and “Princess Peach.” We have a little ways to go in that department but still lots of time…
Overall, I’m doing well and time is already going quickly, especially now that we’ve started homeschool again after the Christmas break we took.
Are you expecting? If so, how far along are you and how are you feeling?
