This weekend I’m heading off with Gabriel to my church’s Ladies’ Retreat!
This is the first time I’ll be going away overnight with a baby in tow! I’ll admit, I’m a little bit nervous. But there are 2 other friends going who have young babies, which is nice. 🙂
I’m also looking forward to the chance to spending some quality time with friends, connecting with God, getting to know some other women from the church better, and hopefully relaxing a bit.
I’ve finally started packing and am laughing a bit at how little room my own stuff takes compared to Gabriel’s things.
(Don’t you love the little baby smiling at the ceiling light?!)
I’m not done packing yet but I’m getting there! All I really need to pack are my last minute things like toothbrush and hairbrush…and bedding…my Bible…and a couple of books that I haven’t had time to finish (or start) reading…and maybe a few other things.
And then, of course, there is the baby gear. I already have the clothes done. But I still need to pack diapers, wipes, baby carriers (I’m not even going to admit how many different ones I’m going to bring), toys, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, baby monitor, more toys…..
Did I mention that we’re only gone for 2 days? I’m glad that Gabriel isn’t on real food yet!
Have you ever gone away by yourself with a baby? What essentials would you recommend? What do you wish you had brought?
