A few days ago I asked for prayer on my Facebook page because there was a possible complication with my pregnancy. My initial ultrasound at 11 weeks showed that I might have placenta accreta, which occurs when the placenta implants too deeply into the wall of the uterus and it can’t detach after delivery. Obviously, this can be quite serious. In many cases, this results in a premature delivery with a large risk of the mom hemorrhaging, and quite often a hysterectomy is done as well. I hadn’t shared too much about it before because I didn’t want to make a big deal out of a “could be.”
I had a higher level ultrasound done this past Friday to double check everything. Thankfully, the accreta isn’t there! Either it was a bad image in the first ultrasound or a God thing, but everything is fine. Praise God!
I do have to go back in a few weeks for another ultrasound just to be sure but I’m not expecting anything to come up. Baby looked perfectly fine (albeit shy; we weren’t able to find out the gender yet, although I *think* I saw girl parts) and even my inexperienced eye could see that the blood-flow from the placenta wasn’t going into the wall of the uterus on the ultrasound.
All of that aside, I’m feeling well! The nausea has pretty much passed, although I do have to be careful not too eat too much at once, especially greasier foods. My fatigue isn’t too bad. I’m feeling pretty normal!
Thank you so much for your prayers!
