Over the past several months I’ve been learning about the Charlotte Mason method of homeschooling and have slowly been incorporating her ideas into our homeschool.
I am very attracted to her ideas of short, engaging lessons, use of living books over textbooks, and the inclusion of artist, composer, and hymn studies into a child’s education.
The kids are really enjoying doing frequent nature walks now that the weather is nice. My son has been progressing with the reading curriculum by Simply Charlotte Mason. I have been planning out the next school year and collecting living books that I find either at thrift stores or for free for Kindle on Amazon.
I also like several of her quotes, although I haven’t read all of her volumes yet. I especially like the I am, I can, I ought, I will quote and decided to make a printable for it to display in our school room.
I printed mine on pink cardstock, although I’m thinking I might change it to a different colour. You can print it onto any colour of paper that you like to suit your room but I made sure to keep the printable itself in black and white so that those of us without colour printers could enjoy it too (do you ever notice how pretty much every lovely printable available has to be printed in colour?)
You can download this free Charlotte Mason printable here. Please don’t host the image yourself on any site, but please do share this post so that others may take advantage of the printable if they want!

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he’s old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
LOVE THIS! I was going to try to make one myself but I’m glad I found yours first! Thank you for sharing!
I just printed this out. I really wanted to share this with my kids and repeat it often.
Thanks, this is great! I had a more simplified version that my daughter recites, but she needed more of a challenge, so this is perfect!
