One of the reasons, at least.
This is Tobi after a major “a-ha!” moment.
He’s been really struggling to do carrying over in math because he kept wanting to work from left to right. He also has a very perfectionist personality and every time he would make a mistake, he would get so upset that we couldn’t continue.
I had him pick a few numbers to try and gave him the chalk. He wanted to do them in his head and I was bracing for another rough lesson.
But he got it! Even the question that required him to carry over twice, he got it in his head!
The next question was even better because he when he wrote it out, there was an error. I had him talk me through the question, he caught his error, and he fixed it without getting upset!
This is one reason why we homeschool. Because I want to be there for the a-ha! moments.
Have your kids had any a-ha! moments lately? I’d love to hear about it.
