Looking for a quick and easy basic barbeque sauce recipe? Here’s one that I just made last night that was a hit! I used this on chicken but I think it would be delicious on pork as well.
You can also use it for freezer cooking! Just add some of the prepared and cooled sauce to some chicken in freezer bags and freeze! The chicken will marinate in the sauce as it thaws when you take it out the day you plan on using it!
- 1 cup ketchup
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp vinegar
- 3 Tbsp Worchestershire sauce
- 2 tsp mustard
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice
- 2-3 cloves garlic, chopped fine/minced (You can alter the garlic to suit your tastes. I like a lot of garlic)
- crushed red pepper flakes to taste (optional, if you like some heat to it)
- Add all ingredients into a small saucepan and stir well to make sure there are no clumps. Heat over med-high heat until it just comes to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sauce will continue to thicken as it cools. Store sauce in fridge.
