I’ll confess; I have a hard time being consistent using a planner. I want to use one and I know that using one would really make my life easier, but I have had a hard time finding one that suits my family’s needs and lifestyle.
I was recently contacted and asked to review The Homemaker’s Friend Daily Planner. I think this one might be a keeper!
The first thing that I like about this planner is that it’s pretty. I know, it’s not really a big important aspect of the planner, but I like pretty things.
The planner is also organized well. You can easily flip to its different sections: Year, Month, Week, Tasks, Projects, Info, and Shopping.
In the Year section you will find 2014 and 2015 mini calendars, as well as a Dates to Remember page for each year. This would be great for writing birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, family reunions, etc.
In the Month section of the planner there are 2-page calendars for each month from December 2013 to January 2014. US holidays are labeled and there is a place to write notes for each month. Additionally, there are monthly mini calendars for the months previous and upcoming to the month you’re on.
The Weekly section is what will likely get the most use. It’s the extra touches that make a product like this stand out above the rest and one of my favourite touches are the Proverbs verses included for each week. This would be a great way to memorize many of the Proverbs!
Here, you will have lots of room to write out a list of tasks for the week and your plans for each day. There is also a menu box for each day. There is a blank lined page at the end of the section to write out any notes you might have.
The Tasks and Projects portions of the planners have multiple of blank lined pages for you to sort out your ideas, errands, and projects on.
The Information section is your address and number book.
The last section could very well end up being my 2nd most used part of the planner is the Shopping section. Here, there are pages and pages of shopping lists, 3 per page. And they are perforated lists! So you can easily just tear out the list you’re working on when you’re ready to head to the store without worrying about bringing the whole planner.
The planner is also filled with encouraging and inspirational quotes throughout. I think we could all use a little bit of a pick-me-up now and again!
Disclaimer: I received free copies of the 2013 and 2014 planners from Homemaker’s Friend to review. I was not obligated to provide a positive review and I was not compensated in any other way. My review contains only my honest opinions.
The Homemaker’s Friend website has a great deal going on right now. If you purchase their 2014 planner right now, you will get a copy of their 2013 planner for free! Considering there is still almost half a year left of 2013, that’s a pretty great deal! You do need to pay an extra $3.00 but that is still less than the cost of any decent generic planner I’ve ever seen in a store! Make sure to use the link on the Homemaker’s Friend main page to take advantage of this special deal!
