Last year we had horrible ants. Big, ugly black ants that kept biting Josiah and not letting go. All over the place. Finally, I found a recipe for ant bait that works! All of the store-bought traps we tried failed, but this worked! Within a few days there were noticeably a lot fewer ants in the house, and within 2 weeks there were none!
I’ve started to see a few ants in the house the last several days so it was time to make a new batch of ant bait.
- 2 Tbsp Borax
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- Boil the water.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar and borax.
- Add the boiling water and stir until the powder is dissolved.
- Drench a cotton ball or wadded up tissue in the liquid (after it’s cooled!) and place it on a plastic lid or something to keep it from getting your counters gross and sticky. Ants will drink the liquid, bring it back to the nest, and they will all die. Keep replacing the trap when the cotton ball or tissue dries out for about 2 weeks. Keep the extra bait in a container with a lid on it.
