I haven’t written too much lately. Sorry! Here are some snapshots of what we’ve been up to lately.
A few weeks ago I bought a L-O-N-G piece of fabric to make a baby wearing wrap with. Since the fabric was pretty plain, I decided to try snow-dyeing it to pretty it up a bit. I’ll be sharing a tutorial soon!
I’ve also been practicing wrapping Gabriel quite a bit. Usually on my back! I hadn’t realized how dirty my mirror was until I saw this picture.
I received this book in the mail yesterday! I’ll be posting a review once I have the chance to read it. 🙂
And I’ve finally found chapter books that my kids will sit and listen to for read alouds. Usually we stay away from anything magic but I don’t find these books to be bad. The stories teach history, and they are fast-paced enough to keep my kids’ attention for several chapters at a time. I only have the first 8 books, which I bought off a local Facebook swap site, so I’ll have to keep my eyes open for more at thrift stores!
Yes, this is just an empty bin. Why is that important? Because it used to be full! I’ve been in a major “get rid of stuff NOW” mood lately. I had tons of fabric that I figured I probably wouldn’t ever use. In fact, I had 2 of these bins over-stuffed with fabric along with a large garbage bag. I managed to weed it down to just one comfortably full bin. Yay!
School has been pretty laid back since Gabriel was born. I just haven’t managed to get back into a good routine with it yet. However, I have been trying to keep up with doing math several times a week, along with some games that encourage learning. I’ve also re-started 100 Easy Lessons with Tobi now that he’s more comfortable with his letters and the sounds they make.
We’re also starting a new virtue in We Choose Virtues. I love the kit I got and totally recommend it.
And, I’ve been taking a lot of breaks for tea. 🙂
Nothing too exciting, just constantly going. What has your family been up to?
