We’ve been having some cooler days lately (although overall, it’s been a warm winter so far!) and I’ve been in a crafty mood lately. Cooler weather and yarn just seem to go well together (along with a cup of tea or peppermint hot chocolate) so I’ve been crocheting a lot.
I’ve also had 2 friends have a baby in the last several weeks — one of whom was just born a couple of days ago! — so I had to make some gifts, of course.
I made some baby cowboy boots. The blue pair is actually the smaller pair of the two. I made the blue ones for our baby, and the other pair for a friend from church. This is the first time I’ve been able to get the sole right when trying a pair of boots or shoes, so I was a bit excited. I hope baby doesn’t outgrow them too quickly! You can find the free online pattern for the boots here.
I also made a headband and fingerless mitt set for a friend in my local home school group. It’s hard to tell in the picture, but the main colour in the mitts is a dark purple, and the white yarn has gold tinsel woven in. She picked really pretty colours! I used this pattern as a base for the flower I put on the headband.
