101 Stories Miraculous Stories of Signs from Beyond, Amazing Connections, and Love that Doesn’t Die
When our loved ones leave this world, our connection with them does not end. Death takes away their physical presence, but not their spirits, and we often sense them after they have gone. Sometimes when we see or hear from them, they give us signs and messages. Sometimes they speak to us in dreams or they appear in different forms. The stories in this book, both religious and secular, will amaze you, giving you new knowledge, insight and awareness about the connection and communication we have with those who have passed on or those who have experienced dying and coming back. I hate to give a review that isn’t 5 stars, but I think this is the first Chicken Soup for the Soul book that I haven’t loved. The book is well written and the stories are as uplifting as any other Chicken Soup for the Soul book; it’s just a matter of personal preference and beliefs.
I didn’t realize at first that the stories were both religious and secular, and I think that might have set my expectations differently than they might have been.
A lot of the stories tell of a person who experienced dreams, heard voices, or just felt (for lack of a better way to describe it) their deceased loved ones helping them. Sometimes these experiences saved lives, other times they brought a feeling of peace.
The only problem I had (and again, this is because of my personal beliefs) were the stories involving psychic involvement. The Bible is clear about mediums and fortune telling; these things are not from God and therefore are not “messages from heaven.” If a person did not know this, then the book could be very deceiving to them spiritually. Because of this, I don’t feel I can recommend this book unless the reader will be spiritually mature enough to know what is Godly in the book and what isn’t.
However, like I’ve said, this is the first Chicken Soup for the Soul book I haven’t loved. There are many new releases from Chicken Soup for the Soul!
If you’re looking for a gift for a loved one or even looking for an encouraging book for yourself, please check out the Chicken Soup for the Soul website.
