Last night, when Louis was saying bedtime prayers with the kids, Tobi kept his prayer short.
“Thank you God for playing, Amen.”
When Daddy told him that talking to God is very special and important, Tobi surprised him by starting a sentence with this:
“God told me to say….”
Since I wasn’t in the room to hear it myself this will be paraphrased a bit, but the gist of was that Tobi told Louis that the body is made of 3 parts. There’s the body part, and the inside part (I’m not sure what he said about the 3rd part) and that God wants us to make the inside show on the outside to show God’s power.
Um, wow. Neither Louis nor I have ever talked to Tobi about any of that stuff. I’m not even sure I’d told him that God can talk to us, unless he got that on his own from times I’ve told him that praying is talking with God.
Also, a lesson to me. I know that we need to show God’s love on the outside by the way we act and speak, but to be reminded by a 4yr old? A bit humbling.
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
