I’ve been really slacking at keeping up with making meal plans the last few months. As a result, we end up spending more money on ordering in, on last-minute groceries, and we had the annoying daily,
“What do you want for supper tonight?”
“I dunno. What do you want?” conversation.
So last week, as part of the cleaning routine I’m making for myself, I committed myself to making a new meal plan every Thursday (when we get our ad bag) and choosing meals that require ingredients we either have in the house, or are on sale in the flyers.
So, here is this week’s menu! I was pleased; we only had to buy a few items for this week.
Monday – fish with dill sauce, rice, and peas and carrots
Tuesday – ham quiche and wedge fries
Wednesday – steak and sidekick noodles
Thursday – beef stew
Friday – We’re going to a friend’s house for dinner
Saturday – Homemade hamburger helper (I keep thinking that I’ve shared this recipe before, but apparently I haven’t..On my to-do list!)
Sunday – fridge buffet (sounds so much better than leftovers!)
Groceries we had to get
-Carrots for the stew
-Potatoes for the wedge fries and stew
-1lb of ground beef (we buy our beef by the 1/2-cow from a farmer friend, but we’ve run out of beef and are eating through some of the other cuts we still have left before getting another cow)
Besides this, I picked up some juice and apples today and we might need to get milk this week. Still a major improvement over our recent grocery spending!
What are you cooking this week?
