This is what the top drawer of my set of 4 stacking plastic drawers looked like. Yea..pretty bad. And this was probably the neatest of the 4. So I decided that my organization project would be to clean them all out and make them a bit more user-friendly.
First, I dumped out the contents of drawer #1.
Yikes. So, I slowly sorted through all the
junk contents of the drawer, threw out some stuff, and found proper homes for what didn’t belong. Now, how to make the most of the space in the drawer? I went to Google (I love Google..don’t you?) and found a tutorial on making origami boxes. Surprisingly enough, I was able to make a decent one on my first try. I made several boxes, and voila! Easy and inexpensive storage solution.
The large boxes were made with 12×12 inch scrapbooking paper, and the smaller boxes were made with 9×9 inch paper. I think I’ll stick some double sided tape on the bottom of the boxes so they don’t shift around. Or maybe I’ll want to be able to take them out easily. I haven’t decided yet. Encouraged by how the first drawer turned out, I was able to clean out the others pretty quickly. I forgot to take photos of those ones, though.
