I’ve been in an organizing mood lately. Recently there was a sale for clear plastic shoe boxes, and I got several sets so that I could store more on the two bookshelves that I have to fit ALL of my homeschooling and craft supplies on. I wanted to make labels for the boxes, but didn’t want to have to try to pull off old labels if I wanted to put different things in each box. I also wanted something a bit prettier than masking or painter’s tape.
I was in our shed with my husband as he worked on building a new desk for me (that will be in a later post!) and my eyes landed on the can of chalkboard paint we used a couple of years ago to make a chalkboard craft table for the kids. Idea!
I found some mailing labels I had, put down flyers down on the ground and then a sheet of labels, and went at the labels with the chalkboard paint. It was super sunny and hot so the paint dried in no time. I did the two coats of paint as per the instructions on the can, then tested out the labels. Perfect!
