Love You More, by Jennifer Grant
Jennifer Grant shares the story of how her adopted daughter, who was born in Guatemala, came to join their family. Grant chronicles the events leading up to making the decision to adopt, the adoption process, and the adjustment period afterward in this touching book.
I never really knew anything about the adoption process, but the author tells it how it is; a roller coaster of excitement, anxiety, frustration, and joy. She describes how her family went through the process of choosing which country to adopt from, how the paperwork process didn’t go as planned, how her children reacted with the news that they would adopt, and how they reacted when their new sister finally came home. Grant also describes the first time she and her husband met their daughter-to-be for the first time, when the baby was only 9 months old, and they were able to keep her for a weekend in a Guatemala hotel.
I really enjoyed this book. Jennifer’s easy-to-read writing style makes this book a quick read (a must for me, since I don’t have much reading time!) She also includes tips for those considering (or in the process of) adoption, and a discussion guide at the end of the book. Whether you’re wanting to adopt, or just want to read a true story about how God provided a little Guatemalan girl with a loving family, I would recommend this book.

Sounds like a good book. My friend goes to Guatemala every year to help build schools and bring school supplies!
That's great! I've been to a few different countries on missions trips, but never to Guatemala

Great review. I read this book and loved it. I feel we can learn so much from other parents’ experiences, even if they are not exactly the same as our own. Her honest, humorous stories made me laugh and cry. it’s a great resource for any parent, especially those considering adoption or even foster parenting. I also highly recommend the author’s blog, which talks not only about adoption, but about family culture and parenting as well. It’s at http://jennifergrant.com
