This morning I decided we should make Bubble Snakes(an idea I found here at Confessions of a Homeschooler.)
The kids had a blast! Instead of cutting up old washclothes, as suggested in the post at COAH, I just used baby washcloths. They were a good size for wrapping around the bottles without being cut up, and I can just toss them in the laundry. Our bubbles didn’t get as big as the ones COAH’s kids made, but I don’t know if that’s because our bubble solution may not be as good, or if it’s because baby washcloths are thinner, and maybe didn’t hold as much soap. Either way, it was fun.
The kids blew bubble snakes.
Then they discovered the joy of stomping on them!
After about 1/2 hour, the inevitable happened: Tobi inhaled (I’d been telling him the whole time to only breathe out into the bottle) and he got a lungful of soap. A big lungful I think, by the way he choked on it. 15 minutes later he was still coughing on and off, but he seems fine now so hopefully he cleared it all out.
Needless to say, that ended our bubble snake making, but Tobi did say he wants to play it again!
Don’t have bubble solution? COAH has a recipe for it in her post.
