In the last few days, my programmer-since-high-school husband has been going through my site and improving my SEO (search engine optimization.) He’s spent hours going through almost every post and link.
What is SEO? These are the keywords you use that will make a search engine say, “Hey! This site is relevant to that person’s search…I’ll bring up that URL.”
In the last couple of days, I’ve seen drastic improvements in my Google Analytics. My Global Alexa rank has improved, and I’ve gone up a Google PageRank. He helped me with my Google AdWords keywords, and overnight, I went from 2 hits to 5700 hits in a 24 hours span! The best part? He actually enjoys the eye-glazing (to me, at least) work of coding and marketing strategy.
Now, I didn’t post about this to brag; there’s something in it for you too. Louis has agreed to write a series on improving your SEO scores to help all of you as well. Each post of this how-to guide will contain tips and tricks on how to choose your keywords, how to post images in a way that will make your blog more visible, improve links, leverage social media, create AdWords campaigns, and more.
There will always be multiple giveaways involved. The prize? Louis’ programmer brain.
For each post, we will randomly pick a winner and he will do an SEO analysis on YOUR site. (Details to come)
So stay tuned! All of this will be coming soon!
