I’ve been wanting to make a quilted blanket for each of the kids for a while, and here is the first one!
I found the fabric in the remnants bin at the fabric store. There was just enough of the green fleece to make this blanket..I only wish there was enough to make another! I used brown flannel from the remnants bin to make the appliques.
Instead of quilting in a traditional pattern, I used the free motion foot for my machine and just did random swirls all over. This used up tons of thread, but I like the end result and it was fun and easy. I also used the free motion foot to write out the “Love Mommy” applique.
I wish I’d known about this machine foot before!
I may be out of the green fleece, but I have a ton of a nice blue fleece so I might end up making more of these and list them in my shop. We’ll see!
