Tobi is 3 years old and Annabel is 23 months old.
First, Tobi coloured some prayer-related pictures that we later cut out and decorated his lapbook with.
This activity was supposed to be made with a brad so that you could spin the top paper around and see the different pictures…since I don’t have brads, I turned it into a shape matching activity and had Tobi glue the pieces onto a paper with marked spots for the pieces. After it was glued down to the lapbook, I used a piece of cardstock to make a flap door for it.
The counting hands is actually supposed to be counting fingers, and learning to count by 5s, but since that’s a bit beyond Tob’s level, he counted the hands instead. I wrote down the numbers 1-4 on pieces of construction paper and he glued the number next to the proper hand.
There was also a small mini-book about prayer (which Tobi didn’t want to colour), and a couple of songs.
I didn’t get too many photos of Annie this week, but she enjoyed reading books, doing puzzles, and building towers. She also did a glueing activity while Tobi worked on his lapbook. I cut out different shapes and let her glue them down to some construction paper.
Annie also surprised me this week by counting to 11! She skips 4 (most of the time) and 8 (all of the time) but I was impressed, since I’d never counted with her past 5, and had only really worked on trying to get to 3 with her. She’s a major copy-cat though, and I guess she’d been listening to Tobi count things.
