I haven’t really done much schooling with the kids for the last few weeks, between getting ready for baby, and now baby arriving. Yesterday, though, I decided to slowly get back into it and made them a small date and weather board. This is very simple compared to all the other ones I’ve seen around on other homeschooling blogs, but this will do for now.
The kids love it (and managed to damage it slightly about 5 minutes after I took the photo….oh well!) Yesterday afternoon, Tobi went to the store with Daddy before supper, and Daddy told him he had to wear a hat because it was windy. As soon as they got home, Tobi came in and changed the weather from “rainy” (as it had been in the morning) to windy!
I got the “What’s the weather” box and the pocket from 1+1+1=1 and found clip art images for the weather (I don’t have a colour printer so I couldn’t print off Carisa’s weather images.) I used markers to colour the weather images, backed them and the days of the week on their own colour of construction paper, and laminated them. I used a file folder to make the board since I don’t have any poster board right now.
