The last couple of weeks Tobi hasn’t been too interested in doing schoolwork, so I haven’t been pushing him. I guess I need to find ways to make it more fun! He has enjoyed some of the power point presentations from 1+1+1…I’m so glad I finally invested in the membership, if just for that!
Tobi’s been impressing me with his letters. We were at the Dr. office the other day, and there’s a sign on the door; he was going through all the letters in the sign one by one, and only needed help with a couple of them! Most of the letters were ones that we haven’t really focused on, so I was surprised (and he impressed some of the others in the waiting room too!)
I found the link to a math practice site on another blog (sorry, I can’t remember where) and Tobi really likes it. Unfortunately, you only get a small amount of time per day that you can use the site for free; for unlimited use, you need to pay their membership fee. Still, Tobi likes it and he impressed me (again) by getting all the Left vs Right questions right! That’s something I’d practice with him here and there when the occasion came up, but never really spent time on.
The site is called IXL, and you can check it out here. They have math practice questions of all kinds, sorted by category, and separated into grades from JK to Grade 8. Very nice!
Annie spent a lot of time doing puzzles again, and I caught her looking through her books. Otherwise, she’s been getting ready for the baby to come by playing with her doll, giving it lots of hugs and taking it for rides in the toy stroller.
I found a little “pretend store” toy at a thrift store, and the kids had fun setting up a little grocery store. Annie had even more fun trying to hide behind it.
And, I couldn’t resist getting a photo of the two on their potties. We’re not going to really try potty training til the summer (and then I hope to get both done at once!), but Annie’s been really interested and wants to sit on the potty when I change her diaper..so why not! Tobi decided he would try this time too (since he gets a Toy Story sticker if he does anything on it.)
