My son’s been followed by the local children’s hospital CHEO since we found out he has hydronephrosis (Learn more here.) when he got a bad bladder infection at 2 months old. The hydro has improved as he’s grown, but he still goes for ultrasounds every once in a while to make sure. Our last appointment was 9 months ago on Tobi’s birthday no less, and it’s time again. His appointments are on Sept 21 (Tuesday).
This time it’s going to be a LONG day. Tobi has to fast for the ultrasound. The ultrasound is at 12:30. So the poor guy has to skip 2 meals after having not eaten all night.
Then the consult with the urologist isn’t until 6:45 in the evening. Which means our daughter will be missing her nap and the kids will be in and out of car seats all day as we do errands to kill the time. Yikes! If nothing has changed with his kidney, my husband plans on telling them that we won’t bother coming back for more follow-ups as Tobi’s old enough to tell us if something hurts now. So hopefully this will be the last time.
Please pray that Tobi does well having to fast, and that he’s cooperative with the ultrasound (he usually is great and lies still and watches), and please pray that Annabel will get decent sleep in the car.
