As every parent knows, there are just some moments with our kids that are totally priceless. You get a glimpse into the workings of their minds; I always wonder about their thought process and ‘logic.’ I love seeing them start to make their own decisions as they get older, and watching them try new things, discovering how the world works.
It’s amazing to see my son as a big brother. I doubt he remembers being an only child, as he wasn’t quite 17 months old when Annabel arrived. He tries to pick her up, tells her he loves her “I luh you Annie!” When she cries, he’ll often tell her “don’t worry, it’s ok” then find her a toy. And lately he’s discovered that he can pull her in their wagon! I’m surprised at his strength; the first time he tried, he pulled her all the way across town to the park, which took him about 25 minutes.
What a blessing children are, even if sometimes they make me want to pull my hair out. I can’t imagine my life without them, and it affirms even more for me that I should allow God to bless us with more children as He sees fit for us.
