The Dating Days
Louis and I met online..yep! On a site called Christian Cafe. We met in person 2 days after chatting online for the first time. He was the first guy I’d ever dated, so I was pretty nervous. He had gotten about 3 hours of sleep after coming off a night shift so he was pretty tired!
We met for lunch and went to a Pizza Pizza..where he was too tired to eat so I kind of felt like a pig!
Our work schedules worked out well, we both had the same alternating weekends off, and I worked only part time so we were able to see each other several times a week even though I lived about 45 minutes away from him. Since it was summer, we’d go for a lot of walks, feed ducks at the park, he even prepared a picnic lunch for us, complete with cherry cheesecake! He brought everything..except for the forks. But it was great!
We only dated about 2 months before he popped the question. Before I’d been completely nervous about dating something..thinking no one would want me…and thinking *if* I ever got married, it would be YEARS away…But I found myself waiting for him to propose before he even did. We got married 3 months later, only 5.5 months after the first day we met!
I think the thing we miss out on the most now compared to before is time! We had kids right away (our son was born 11 months after we were married, and our daughter is not quite 17 months younger than him) so it’s hard to make time for just ourselves. We used to have date nights once a month, but since we moved we haven’t had the chance..however, we have our first post-house date night planned for the 26th!
